Wie wurde wohl der bekannte jüdische Publizist Moshe Menuhin, Los Gatos, California, USA, Vater des berühmten Violinvirtuosen Yehudi Menuhin, der seit Jahren in der “Deutschen National- und Soldaten-Zeitung” eine Artikel-Serie nach der anderen veröffentlichen lässt, wie würde dieser Mann wohl obige Frage beantworten???[4]

ist kein Unterschied-
gemäss dem christlichen Gebot „Du sollst nicht toten”.
Es heisst nämlich nicht „Du darfst töten, wenn…”.

Between the auto-da–fésof the Spanish Inquisition, the Turkish massacres against the Armenians, the German burning of Jews, the American actions in Vietnam, the treatment of prisoners of war by the Israelis today, and the “calming cells” in German prisons today (to name just a few! ) there is no difference— according to the Christian commandment “Thou shalt not kill.” It does not say “Thou may kill if…”.

1Ausgefragt (“Interrogated”) is a collection of poems by Günter Grass from 1967, published in Berlin by Neuwied but not translated into Italian. The verses that follow come from the poem In Ohnmacht gefallen (Powerless): “Bald wird es preiswerte Bildbände | mit besseren Fotos geben, |auf denen deutlicher wird, |was Napalm vermag.” An Italian version of the text can be found in the anthology Poesia tedesca del Novecento, Rizzoli, 1977, edited and translated by Anna Maria Giachino and Gabriella Rossetto Sertoli: “Presto ci saranno libri di fotografie a buon prezzo| con foto migliori, | dalle quali risulterà più chiaramente | cosa può fare il napalm” [“Soon there will be inexpensive books of photographs | with better photos, | which will show more clearly | what napalm can do”].

4Moshe Menuhin (1893-1983) was an American author (born in Belarus) of Jewish origin. After moving with his family to Palestine, he went to the United States in 1913 to continue his studies. He began teaching Hebrew in California in 1919. Known for his anti-Zionist views, in 1965 he published the book The Decadence of Judaism in Our Time, whose first section is entirely dedicated to the genesis of Zionism and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Thanks to his origins and his views, that same year Menuhin was hired by the Deutschen National-Zeitung und Soldaten-Zeitung and soon became one of its most controversial writers. In the fall of 1967, his article entitled “Israel, your Nazis – what I, as a Jew, despise about Israel” appeared on the front page. Menuhin’s collaboration with the National-Zeitung was problematic, above all due to the fame and moral stature of his son, Yehudi Menuhin. An internationally renowned violinist, Yehudi Menuhin was the first Jewish musician to perform in Germany after World War II. A gesture of reconciliation destined to become one of the symbols of German rebirth after the tragedy caused by Hitler. Cf. W.
