Stimatissimo Dottor Levi,

La ringrazio di cuore per la Sua lettera di agosto, nella quale affronta la problematica della nostra generazione, mostrando tanta volontà di comprendere.

Oggi mi permetto di inviarLe un numero di «Radius»,[1] organo dell’Associazione Accademica Evangelica in Germania. In questi ambienti, l’impegno per fare i conti con il passato costituisce uno degli obiettivi principali del lavoro. E se si riesce a raggiungere solo un numero relativamente ristretto di persone, ciò non deve scoraggiarci.[2]

Con l’augurio che i contributi presenti in questo numero di Radius possano restituirLe un po’ di speranza e di fiducia negli uomini e nelle donne qui in Germania, La saluto cordialmente

Thank you very much for your August letter, in which you addressed the problems of our generation in such an understanding manner.

May I send you a copy of Radius,[1] the German Protestant academic community’s magazine? These groups’ efforts to come to terms with the past are a major focus of the work featured therein. Even if we reach only a relatively small number of people, we must not be discouraged.[2]

I In hopes that the articles in this issue of Radius will give you a little more hope and joy regarding those of us in Germany, I send you my regards.

Haben Sie herzlichen Dank für Ihren Brief vom August, in dem Sie in so verstehender Weise auf die Problematik unserer Generation eingehen.

Darf ich Ihnen heute einmal den „Radius”[1] zusenden, das Organ der Evangelischen Akademikerschaft in Deutschland? Die Bemühungen in diesen Kreisen um eine Bewältigung der Vergangenheit sind ein Hauptziel der Arbeit. Wenn auch nur relativ wenig Menschen erreicht werden, so darf uns das doch nicht entmutigen.[2]

In dem Wunsche, dass durch die Beiträge in dieser Radiusnummer Ihnen etwas mehr Hoffnung und Freude für uns Menschen in Deutschland gegeben werde, grüsse ich Sie als
